            The Legacy

A hawk flies through the sky in twilight.
Searching for her final meal of the night.
Her baby's asleep on the cliffside.
Not aware a lonely desert dog has died.

Another family tree loses another limb.
It's hard for them to see what good
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him.

A truck flies lonesome down that
   dusty old road.
Searchin' for a bite to eat,
and the warmth of her abode.
  His brakes are stressed,
You can hear them cryin' from the strain.
He hits a ditch and lands clear
   of his earth-bound pain.

Another family tree loses another limb.
It's hard for them to see what good
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him.

     Instumental:

A man walks through the desert,
   across the burnin' sand.
He hopes to teach his people,
how to see the promised land.
His hands are strong, his eyes are clear,
And is his heart is pure.
Two thousand years of time gone past,
and his words; they still endure!

Another family tree loses another limb.
It's hard for them to see what good
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him,
   became of him.
