     LOUISE

Ain’t no train comin’ down that track.
 Conductor left town
   and he won’t be back.

A girl took his heart and she left
a hole.  Used to be the place
     where he kept his soul.

 Chorus:
Devil’s got a dealer and her name

is Louise.
And if she don’t get you son,
        she’ll never rest at ease

Well, there was flames jumpin’ out the school-house shack.
But the fireman took  the fire truck and he won’t be back.
A honey with a pitchfork put a scar on his life.
She burnt up everything ‘tween him and his wife.

Chorus:
 Devil’s got a dealer
 and her name is Louise.
And if she don’t burn you, son,
 she’ll never rest at ease

Now there’s a robber robbin’ people up and down that street.
But there ain’t no cops around; no one walkin’ that beat.

A meter maid from hell cast a flat-footed spell.
And you if listen real hard you can still hear him yell.

Chorus:
 Devil’s got a dealer
 and her name is Louise.
And if she don’t bust you, son,
 she’ll never rest at ease

Now me, I’ve got a thing for the spice in life.
So I found me a girl on fire and made her my wife.
Got  me a flameproof bed and a flameproof suite.
And I kissed her at the alter while the Devil played the flute.

Yeah, she’s a little demon and
  her name is Louise,
And our love is always burnin’
‘Cause we do what we please.
