Born in Southern California in 1963, Dave was raised on surf, sand,
sun and Rock n' Roll.

Dave started his career at eighteen in the top recording studios of Hollywood.
Working his way up from assistant engineer to his first stint in the hot seat
engineering with legendary Brian Wilson. A house engineer at Track Records
Hollywood from 1982 to 1984, Dave cut his teeth recording a roster of bands
on Metal Blade Records; Metallica, Slayer, Armored Saint. While working at
Cherokee Studios Hollywood, Dave also sharpened his recording and production
skills learning from the best in the Business: Roy Thomas Baker, producer
for Queen, The Cars, Journey; Curt Boetcher, producer for Beach Boys,
The Association and Roy Haily, producer for Simon & Garfunkle.

In 1985, Dave partnered with Jazz musician, Mark Antacky to open Valley
Center Studios, in the heart of San Fernando Valley. This facility was a state
of the art recording studio situated within three rehearsal rooms. Their long
term clients included Carol King, Gerald Albright, Dave Mason and many
others. These well known artists earned the Studio and it's facility a trusted
respect spanning 14 years.

Dave engineered and produced countless records at VCS for Dionne Worwick,
Gary Myric, Tory Amos, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Four Play,
Max Groove, and Tower of Power. And he is now Head producer of
Black Star Records. With Old School analog wisdom and modern hard disk
recording skills, Dave is making magic that pushes the envelope of the 21st century.
