     Bobby Jane

  Bobby Jane is missin'
Where the hell can she be now?

   Bobby Jane is missin'
Where the hell can she be now?

Well, they found some bones at the bottom of the well.
Exactly who it was, Lord, they really couldn't  tell.
But I got a feeling that they've been there a spell.
A hole in the ground leads straight off to hell.

And I heard the bell rang at the old county church.
Grandpa grabbed the dogs and we joined
     up with the search.
And Grandma sat there crying when the sun broke the day.
A devil and a demon made a deal
and Bobby gonna have to pay.

And they gave her daddy twenty-five years.
They couldn't prove he done it,
but the townfolks had their fears.
   But I knew her momma,
and she never ever really cared.
A whole lot in things in this world
    sure as hell ain't fair!
